IT'S PARTY TIME!
hello dears,
how are you doing? I hope you are all well! I have spent the last hours watching youtube videos like a crazy person – until I actually reached the point where there are no interesting videos for me to watch, and I'm in search of new youtube channels to discover and obsess over :D
Before we get to the party, here's a brief summary of my week:
Before we get to the party, here's a brief summary of my week:
- Totally obsessing over this pagan / folk band called Faun that my boyfriend introduced me to. Eden and Von den Elben are my favourite albums so far. I never thought of the German language to be so soft and beautiful :) Perfect background music to write a master thesis!
- By the way, did you know you could use avocado for health and beauty as a face mask, with oatmeal or even to make chocolate?! *shameless self promotion*
- I went to see an orthidontist today because my wisdom teeth are coming through and have to be removed (panic!!), and as if the X-ray wasn't bad enough already (being the cause of many brain tumors, yay), I also had to go to the hospital and get a CT scan which totally sucked and turned my day into a pile of mushy porridge. Afterwards I felt dizzy and anxious, and I immediately bought myself a big box of blueberries to get in those antioxidants and heal the damage of the radiation, lol.
- If you are an introvert like me, this open letter from an introvert will probably resonate with you. If you are an extrovert, this letter will help you understand us introverts :)
- Grace's bentonite clay toothpaste couldn't have come at a better time. This is the solution to the problem of using coconut oil as a toothpaste, which can get quite runny/messy!
- If you are a blogger, this free printable blogging planner by Crissy is a great way to organize your blog! I'm a sucker for all lists and planners, so yeah :D
But now on to the party!

I'm sure we've all heard of egg-filled avocado and avocado brownies by now. But there are even more creative ways to use this testicle-shaped fruit (the Aztecan word for avocado, ahuacatl, literally means "testicle", so... yeah. you're welcome...?).
Way back in the "early days" of my blog, I did a blog post on avocados where I talked about the different benefits and uses of avocados, such as for making chocolate pudding, as a mayonnaise substitute or in baking. However, there are still some more unusual ways to use avocado other than for guacamole, pesto, pasta alfredo or dairy-free cheesecake. – Although, to be honest, avocado cheesecake is pretty dope.

Oh my god you guys, this is literally heaven on a plate! *angelic singing voice*
May I present?
This is dairy- free coconut ice cream! – aaand also the fourth part of my "Thai cuisine" blog series where I recreate meals that I've eaten on my 2 week vacation in Thailand (so if you have any suggestions for other Thai dishes to recreate, please let me know!).
It's the first thing I've ever eaten in Thailand, and I ate it about every other day for two weeks straight from then on. Just give it a try.

IT'S PARTY TIME!
hey there sweeties,
I hope you're all happy and healthy. Personally, I'm really looking forward to sleeping in this weekend because I haven't gotten much sleep this week, getting up early to get in a few productive working hours for my master thesis. Before we get to the linky party, here's what happened this week:
- Last week the new documentary What The Health by the creators of Cowspiracy came out – I haven't seen it yet, but it's definitely on my watchlist. Have to watch Cowspiracy and Earthlings with my boyfriend first, though. (Have you seen any of those three?)
- In case you are looking for a great alternative to coffee, here's 3 healthy coffee alternatives for you!
- My parents are off to Morocco for two weeks, and I'm lucky enough to do house-sitting again! I will be writing the last major chunk of my master thesis in their house, care for their plants and enjoy their garden if the weather will allow it :)
- Oh, and while we're at it: I will probably house-sit my great uncle's finca on the Canaries later this year! (exciting!)
- I changed my phone background to a more spring-like wallpaper.
- TMI, but I'm on my period at the moment, and homemade hot ginger tea is what keeps me alive these days. Stir in a little bit of raw honey for sweetness if you like!
- This detox turmeric tea by Dear Crissy (who seems to be the star of this linky party as three of her posts got picked individually!) also has ginger in it, along with lemon juice and - of course - turmeric! I love this mix. Super good for you, especially during winter or when you feel like getting a cold.
- For some reason I'm currently into those blush / white / gold tones on blogs like Milk Bubble Tea and In The Frow, aaah so pretty! (#photographygoals)
But now on to the party!

If you often feel groggy and unable able to function without your morning coffee or if you find yourself chasing the next coffee high, this post is for you!
Over 90 per cent of adults in the Western World consume caffeine daily. Most people will consume it for pleasure or to get an energy boost or both. I was one of those people. When I was doing my a-levels and went off to do my bachelor's degree, I drank a lot of coffee, usually the super cheap ones from the supermarket. Yuck! It left me jittery and restless, I felt like a little monkey in class. Which isn't always so great.
A couple of years later, working to do my master's degree, I'm completely off caffeine – unless I forget to order a caffeine-free coffee, which leads me to turn into a squirrel on drugs basically – and I'm not missing it a bit!
I still really enjoy the taste and the alerting effect of coffee, so here is what I use to get a similar effect without the actual coffee.
IT'S PARTY TIME!
hey there little pineapples,
are you wearing something green? Cause it's officially St. Patrick's Day today! (at least in Germany, it's already March 17th here) I'm actually wearing a green hoodie, but that's just one of my standard slouch-around-pieces. Anyway. I decided I would use our weekly party to share some fun things that have happened to me that week.
- I finished the theory chapter of my master thesis and started with the narratological analysis. (yay)
- Spring is finally returning to Germany, and I'm totally obsessing over Rachel Talbott's youtube videos on natural home cleaning, beauty DIYs and spring decor. (love!)
- My boyfriend and I took care of his sister's dog last weekend and went for a looong walk in the sun. (I wish I had a dog)
- It took us 30 attempts to get a somewhat decent photo for my Relationship Problems post. (I gloomily stared out of the window for a solid half an hour)
- I (kind of) fell in love with Grace's website, and (kind of) decided to slowly transition my blog content from food / fitness to more natural remedy & self care related posts. (exciting!)
- I've started doing daily 20 to 30 minute workouts again (which I'm actually super proud of) and I'm also currently doing an online workout course with my boyfriend, which is super fun because we can motivate each other (the last workout was sooo hard!)
- This year's Dirty Dozen list is out, and while I already make sure to buy organic produce (potatoes, carrots, bell peppers, tomatoes, lemons), I'm once again motivated to buy even more organic! Especially fruits...
But now on to the party!

Have some green tea or coffee brewing, play your favourite music or podcast or audio book or whatever you prefer, put your hair up in a ponytail and get that little booty off the couch. Because we are going to have a productive weekend this week! Are you with me?
Here's what we are going to do:
hey there cupcakes,
how is life going for you? I'm doing good on my master thesis, spent a wonderful afternoon with my mom on International Women's Day, went out for a delicious dinner at an Indonesian restaurant with my love, met up with a friend for a belated birthday gift giving, and are going to make a bunch of vegan muffins for another friend's birthday tomorrow. Life's good.
Even thought it has been raining for the past week almost, I feel like spring is just around the corner. Which is why my pick for this week's feature round is sort of Easter-related. The rest of the linky party is also pretty Spring-related, so if you're ready for spring – let's party!

While most people turn to heavy make-up and dark colours during winter, I prefer to keep my facial make-up to a minimum. A clean, fresh look that enhances your facial features and is suitable for school and work. Basically, a true "no make-up" make-up. It's perfect for spring, too! Very natural, bright and fresh!
This is actually my first ever make-up related blog post, I think, so bare with me (get it? bare face? okay, I'll stop now).

It's about time for another recipe post, hey? And of course it's a snack – because I am one huge snacker. Especially now, with writing my master thesis and all, I need something to keep my brain working and boost my energy in between.
These energy balls are super easy to make, and very satisfying, both for your taste buds and your tired brain.

Hey party friends,
you can tell spring is coming because the linky parties are getting more colourful and bright again – same goes for my mood :) This time we've got rainbow cupcakes, DIY projects, dinner ideas, watercolor art and superfood breakfast. Something for everyone, I'd say.
Let's not waste any time rambling, and get to the party! :)
