Oh autumn, how I love thee. I mean, what's better than waking up to the soft patter of rain tapping against the window? (unless you have to get to work, but it's Sunday so it's all good)
Misty mornings with crisp air and hot chai lattes. Cobwebs glistening in the morning dew. Maroon and yellow leaves crunching under the weight of your boots. Your chin dug deep into the fluffy woollen drapes of your scarf. A cozy breakfast in bed, a plate full of soft, still warm pumpkin pancakes. Their sweet, spicy scent mingling with the scent of freshly brewed coffee...
Oh pancake Sundays, how I love thee.
I'm glad you're back for another round of Friday Favorites! Currently there's a big funfair in our city like every year around this time, so I'm in full autumn mood. My dresser is decorated with loads of dry leaves, chestnuts, candles, dry berries and dried flowers - all nature's décor!
To complete the autumnal mood, I picked a collection of 5 recipes/tutorials for making your own simmer pot recipes for fall that will make your house smell a-ma-zing. Plus, it's completely natural of course.
Enjoy the party! :)
I know, everybody is posting fall and Halloween themed content at the moment (including me), but my pick for this week's Friday Favorites is neither fall nor Halloween related. It's banana jam!
Did you know you could make jam with bananas?! Considering that most of my sweet recipes contain banana, I think this is pretty ingenious.
On other news, I've been making this vegan apple crisp I was talking about last week after getting the idea from one of our Friday Favorites features! I'm honestly so inspired by all of your submissions each week :)
Now, let's get this party started!

Apple crisp is one of those recipes that most people probably already have the ingredients on hand. Soft baked apples with the most delicious oat/crumb topping and perhaps a scoop of melting vanilla ice cream! What's not to love?
This apple crisp is
Vegan
Gluten-free
Warm
Sweet
Crispy
Crumbly
Spicy from the ginger
Cinnamon-y
Comforting
& perfect for fall.
how have you all been this week? Personally, I'm finishing off the main part of my master thesis today (currently at 113 pages of about 160 pages), so I'm in a pretty good mood :)
As you may or may not know, I love maps. I love the colourful areas?, the seemingly controlled, charted world spread out in front of me, and all the dreams of wanderlust and exploration linked to that. But maps aren't only great for looking at and planning your next holiday (or orienting yourself, let's be honest), they are also great for decorative DIY crafts such as a desk cover, a lampshade, a place mat, a bookcase liner, and many many more.

This vegan chili "con" carne is a little different than your classic chili recipe, but it's one of the best I've ever eaten in my life! Pair that with warm home made tortillas, and you're in (Mexican) heaven!
Because no animals have to ever be harmed in order for you to eat delicious food :)
Hey guys, and welcome to another round of Friday Favorites!
In a modern world it's very easy to forget that autumn also means harvest time, but right now apple picking season is in full swing, and I've been blessed with some of Mother Nature's gifts myself. Last month my boyfriend and I spontaneously went on a scavenger hunt for wild apples - we came back with a bounty of 5 kilos worth of apples!! - and just yesterday my mom brought me another batch of handpicked apples from a friend's garden.
Most of our harvest has been turned into applesauce and an apple tart, but since I've always wanted to make my own apple crumble / cobbler / crisp (can somebody please explain the difference to me??), that's what I'm going to do this weekend! So, naturally I picked a recipe for homemade, gluten-free, vegan-friendly apple crisp for this week's feature :)
Hopefully this will inspire you too! Now, let's party.
