Picking fresh raspberries in the morning is one of my favorite things to do. Conveniently my parents have two raspberry bushes in their garden (both red and golden cultivars! i love the golden ones, they're so sweet and they fruit twice a year, once in early summer and once in fall!).
I like to pick them early in the morning when no one is up yet and it is quiet outside, a little chilly, the raspberries glistening with morning dew... It's a great way to start the day.
Ingredients
3 large ripe bananas
about 1/2 cup fresh raspberries
2 tsp agave syrup or preferred sweetener (optional) - i'm not using any!
also:
- a high-speed blender or food processor (NO NEED FOR AN ICE CREAM MAKER!)
Instructions
First, the "vanilla" ice cream base: break your bananas into pieces, let sit in freezer for a few hours, put frozen banana pieces into your blending machine and blend until it turns creamy. You can add your sweetener now, if you like, or even a bit of vanilla for a stronger vanilla flavour. i like it to be plain, so i leave it like that :)
Add your raspberries. Don't blend, but only "pulse" a few times for the ice cream to create a nice swirl! Then fill everything into a nice bowl, using a spatula or spoon or an ice cream scoop, maybe garnish with a few whole raspberries and enjoy!
Also: Bye bye, bachelor thesis... over the past three months we've had an on-off relationship, there were good times and tough times, you were always present in my life, even brought me sleepless nights. Sometimes i gave you the cold shoulder, neglected you. Only over the past eight weeks we had a very intense affair - but i cannot say i love you. Just this morning i gave you away to the examination office, and i am not going to miss you. One last request: Please make moon-eyes at my examiners, so i will get a good grade. Kay, thanks, bye.
Note: This is part of my oh so glorious raw vegan Ice Cream Galore, hurray!
