Ingredients
Ice Cream:
2 large ripe bananas, frozen
1 tbsp raw, unsweetened cocoa powder
pinch of cinnamon (optional)
1 tsp agave syrup or preferred sweetener (optional) - i'm using 1 tsp coconut blossom sugar
Chocolate Maca Sauce:
handful of dates or raisins, soaked in warm water
pinch of cinnamon
1 tbsp Maca powder (optional)
1 tsp agave syrup or preferred sweetener (optional) - again, i'm using 1 tsp coconut sugar because of it's caramel-like taste!
a pinch of cocoa nibs
also:
- a high-speed blender or food processor (NO NEED FOR AN ICE CREAM MAKER!)
Instructions
For the sauce: Blend all listed ingredients using a blending machine or a hand-held blender. Store in the fridge to set while you go ahead to prepare your ice cream.
For the ice cream: Break your pre-skinned, frozen bananas into pieces and place in your blending machine (high-speed blender, food processor or juicer). Blend for a few seconds, then add cocoa, cinnamon and your preferred sweetener. Keep blending until creamy smooth. Using a spatula or spoon, scrape your chocolate ice cream into a big bowl and drizzle with chocolate sauce. Sprinkle some cocoa nibs (or carob powder) on top and enjoy! So, so, so chocolate-y and good!
