Orange Julius Ice Cream (raw, vegan)

reading time: ca. 1 min

Quick ice cream without ice cream maker

Preparation time: 5 mins + 3 hours freezing time
Main ingredients: banana, orange
difficulty level: easy
serves: 1-2
suitable for: vegan, lactose-free, gluten-free, nut-free, soy-free, paleo, raw food, low-fat

The common Orange Julius is a mixture of ice, orange juice, sweetener, milk, powdered egg whites and vanilla flavouring. My healthy-fied version of that is a mixture of ice cream, orange juice, soy milk and pure vanilla.

Ingredients

3 large ripe bananas, frozen
2 oranges, frozen
1/2 tsp pure vanilla powder
coconut blossom sugar to garnish (optional)

also:
- a high-speed blender or food processor (NO NEED FOR AN ICE CREAM MAKER!)

Instructions

First, squeeze your orange.

Break your pre-skinned, frozen bananas into pieces and add to your food processor. Add soy milk to get the blender going. Blend for a few seconds at a time, add the orange pieces, then add vanilla powder. Keep blending until creamy smooth.

Using a spatula or spoon, scrape your Orange ice cream into a big bowl - or as i did, serve in orange cups - and sprinkle with coconut blossom sugar or orange zest. Share with your favourite human around and enjoy!

Note: This is part of my raw vegan Ice Cream Galore this month!
